This centrifugal clutch is used in two-stroke racing machines. Normally, clutches of this kind are mounted without bushings, which leads to faster wear. The consequence: the clutches have to be replaced entirely. The clutch by Giprime Hyper Racing uses iglidur slide bearings, which increase the service life of the clutch due to their high wear resistance.
The centrifugal clutch establishes traction from the engine to the drive. With increasing speed, the clutch discs are pressed outwards onto the clutch case. This leads to a continuous pivoting movement.
There was high wear of the bolts and the clutch connection elements. Due to the use in racing machines, use is far higher than with normal rollers. Because of the strong wear, the entire clutch had to be replaced.
By using iglidur plain bearings, the friction between bolt and housing was significantly reduced. This increases the clutch's service life. Furthermore, it is no longer necessary to replace the entire clutch, but only the polymer bearing.
