Plain bearings for particularly high loads

Composite bearings are a combination of different materials, e.g. mineral materials (glass, carbon) are woven, combined with synthetic resins and other additives and sometimes pressed together under high temperatures and pressure.

With our igutex plain bearings, a robust fibreglass fabric serves as the outer shell, while an inner layer optimised for sliding properties reduces friction on the shaft.

Reliable energy supply for slab transport
In Thyssen Krupp's Duisburg hot rolling mill, a harnessed readychain energy chain reliably supplies a 180t slab transport crane from the company BANG with energy. A confined installation space, resistance to high temperatures and heavy soiling as well as operation without disruptions - the igus solution fulfils the requirements perfectly and was installed on the crane bridge within a short time.

At the railway technology supplier "Corus Rail", igus energy chains on indoor and outdoor cranes are replacing former free-hanging festoonings. We designed the fully harnessed new energy supply system, consisting of strong plastic energy chains, aluminium guide troughs and chainflex cables, specifically for dynamic applications in harsh, corrosive environments.
