iglidur guide rings are used as bearings to protect pistons and rods from wear in hydraulics and pneumatics. Applications include gas springs, dampers as well as pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders. The iglidur high-performance plastics used ensure lowest coefficients of friction, as well as optimal running and wear behaviour and withstand even high mechanical loads.

By using corrosion-free iglidur plain bearings, the corrosion problem was solved. Due to their low wear values, the plastic guide rings also impressed during tests in Otto Bock's in-house laboratory. Further advantages are: dirt and dust deposits do not affect the guide rings and therefore do not impair the function of the prosthetic knee joints. Additionally, they are silent when in operation.
