Application examples from the shipbuilding industry

Shipyard

Eight linear robot cranes connected in series travel a total length of 180m with plastic energy chains.

Boat cranes

Unlike metal and bronze bearings, bearings from igus do not corrode thanks to their high-performance polymer structure and are therefore the ideal selection for under water use.

Ship loader

Since the final commissioning of the ship loader in 2000, no disturbances have occurred in the energy chain, neither mechanical nor concerning cables.
