In this application, shower trays are deburred fully automatically. Excess material is removed from the edge and the hole for the drain is milled. In addition, the surface can be sanded by the robot to remove production residues.
The robot was supplied without an energy supply, which meant that the hose and cable would have run between axes 3 - 6 without protection and guidance. On the one hand, this posed an increased safety risk, as both could get caught or chafe on the robot. Furthermore, nothing should get caught on the workpiece or work table.
Solution
The cost-effective solution for this type of application is the installation of a spring rod. This ensures that the hose and cable are guided safely, provides protection against external influences and always maintains the optimum distance to the robot arm. Thanks to the universal mounting kit, installing a spring rod is child's play, as the mounting kit can be individually adjusted to the robot.
