Harnessed cables for drive technology

Offering more than 5,000 harnessed motor, servo, signal and encoder cables that can be used in energy chains and are suitable for 30 manufacturer standards, igus has the right drive cable for almost any application. The selection of drive cables is so large because there are up to seven cable qualities per cable specification. This is not a one-size-fits all approach; instead, you select the optimum cable based on the application conditions and where the cable is to be used. Whether icy temperatures (as low as -40°C), oil or limited installation space dictate cable selection, the seven cable qualities will enable you to always find the lowest-cost drive cable that works with your application. A guarantee for four years or 100 million energy chain strokes provides additional protection. The third pillar for selecting the right drive cable is the online service life calculator. It takes just a few clicks to calculate the drive cable service life for the application.

Another highlight of this technology is Power over Ethernet (PoE). This allows power to be supplied to the network client over the Ethernet cable. Devices with low power consumption such as VoIP telephones or network cameras can be operated with a single cable thanks to PoE - a separate power supply is not required. This saves costs and reduces the installation effort. The Y-Con Cover 40 was replaced by the Y-Con 40 PP in 2022, which is 100% backwards compatible with the old Y-Con Cover 40.
