Quiet energy chain systems

Noise emissions reduced by 25%

The noise emission of machines and plants has long been an important issue, and not just since Machine Directive 2006/42/EG. Every component, especially moving components, can contribute towards reduction of a machine's noise level. Our e-chains are especially quiet, low-vibration products. With 32 dB(A) at 1 m/s, for example, they are quieter than an out-of-the-way residential street at night or a person whispering.
Implemented in practice:

Whisper-quiet and low-vibration energy chains in use at ARD Tagesschau

In the ARD Tagesschau studio, camera movements are implemented in very smooth motions by three camera robots installed under the ceiling. Low-vibration energy chains are used to ensure that the energy and data supply operates as quietly and safely as possible.

Recommended quiet energy chains

Up to 8% quieter

e-chain E4S.1 The quiet-operating E4.1 series energy chain can be made even quieter by adding two dampening pads on the outer radius of each chain link. The noise level drops by up to 8%.

Up to 9% quieter

e-chain E6.1 compared to E6 Redesigning and the help of a brake made the e-chain E6.1 9% quieter than the previous series. The extremely low-vibration energy chain is best suited for applications with high dynamics or low noise levels.

Up to 14% quieter

e-chain E2.38 compared to E2/000 The typical chain clatter is greatly reduced by the innovative brake built into the chain link on both sides. In contrast to the identical E2/000, this results in an audible and perceptible quietness, as well as a sound level reduction from 64dB(A) to 55dB(A).

Up to 25% quieter

e-chain E4Q compared to 4040C The E4Q is 25% quieter than the comparable 4040C chain. This difference is made possible by technical developments such as the integrated brake. The result is a drop from 69dB(A) to 52dB(A) compared to the 4040C.

How it works

Functional principle e-chain E6.1 Small wings on the scalable crossbars between the E6.1 chain links ensure that the impact of the links is dampened. As a result noise generation is significantly reduced in the radius of the e-chain. This combines with the low pitch to ensure that the E6.1 is especially quiet.
Functional principle e-chain® E6.1 The "polygon effect" states that many small elements create a rounder shape than just a few larger ones. The especially small pitch of the E6.1 ensures very "round" tracking behaviour. This reduces vibrations to a minimum and enables maximum precision. At the same time, the rolling noise is reduced significantly.
Functional principle e-chain E4.1 Simple principle but highly effective. A wedge-shaped contour in the e-chain stop-dog dampens the e-chain's impact noises.
