MS Spaichingen uses thermocouple compensation cable for innovative connection technology
igus® has developed cables for sensors with thermocouples that use special materials such as constantan and nickel/chromium-nickel compounds instead of copper. The impetus for this came from the enquiry at MS Spaichingen, which was looking for suitable thermocouple compensating cables for the innovative heating contact riveting process. This required basic work, but the developers were able to draw on extensive experience in the development of cables for special requirements.

In the plants, to some extent more than 100 rivet punches have been installed. Each is equipped with a thermocouple, which requires a cable with special materials.
We use the cable with and without an energy chain and have not yet had a single failure.""
