Successfully in use in utility vehicles

Our products have already been tested thousands of times in practice and have proven themselves in numerous applications in lorries and other utility vehicles. By switching from metallic to lubrication-free dry-tech bearing products, our customers have been able to improve the technology of their systems and bring cost down: with longer service file and less maintenance. In the following, you can find a selection of customer applications that have already been realised.

Plain bearing for reliable tipping mechanism of lorry in dirt and dust

iglidur plain bearings ensure a reliable tilt mechanism in the lorries from Librelato S.A. They replace the bronze bearings previously used, which were constantly clogged with dirt and dust and required regular maintenance and greasing.

Maintenance-free polymer bearings for robust sweeping vehicles

Faun Viatec relies on various iglidur plain bearings in the tailgate axle and in the lifting joints of the circular brushes. They withstand moisture, salt, grit, coarse construction site dirt and oil spillages and can easily withstand vibrations and impact loads.

Dirt- and water-resistant linear guide in spray booms

Fiedler relies on drylin linear guides in the double spray booms of its cleaning vehicles. They are not only wear-resistant and insensitive to water, sand and brake wear. They are also robust enough to withstand severe impacts and vibrations from crossing curbs and cobblestones.

Robust linear plain bearings for bus trailer steering systems

The company Göppel Bus has developed a push-rod steering system for bus trailers that transmits the steering movements of the front axle to the rear axle purely mechanically. Fourteen robust drylin R linear bearings with lubrication-free liners ensure consistently smooth movement.

3D-printed gear in the servomotor of fire brigade water cannons

In the large airport fire engines of the Fraport AG plant fire brigade, the spray nozzle angle on the roof turrets can be adjusted via a servomotor. When the gears installed in it were worn out, the maintenance technicians replaced them with new, 3D-printed parts made from the laser sintering plastic iglidur i3.

Extra-fine, 3D-printed gears in the stepper motor of searchlights

Standby GmbH was looking for extremely fine gears for the stepper motor of its compact searchlight, which are rarely produced on the market. The appropriate special components were therefore cost-effectively printed in 3D at igus using the laser sintering process.
