Extensions for AIDA standard

Ready-to-connect AIDA extension cables for automation

The German Automobile Manufacturers Automation Initiative (AIDA) has defined guidelines for the wiring between the switch cabinet, the robot base and the moving robotic axes. igus® readycable® follows this standard for robot cabling in the automotive industry and now offers ready-to-connect chainflex® cables for safe and reliable use in moving applications.
From the catalogue or with individualised adaptations, we offer AIDA cable configurations with HARTING push-pull components in various chainflex qualities. In addition, our extension cables offer further savings potential as the usual terminal boxes (female / female coupler) can be omitted. All ready-to-connect cables are 100% tested and marked with a test seal.

Product Manager Markus Hüffel will give a short introduction

Extension cables according to AIDA standard, whether with bus technology or power plug-in connector. Everything with a guarantee of up to 36 months and 100% made in Germany.

Structure of a chainflex robot cable

Cores, stranded structure, shields and jacket materials must compensate for high alternating bending loads as well as cable diameter changes due to torsional movements. For the said specific stress in the three-dimensional area, the structure of robot cables must have a combination of soft and sliding construction elements. Filling elements are used which can absorb occurring forces such as torsions. For this purpose, PTFE elements and rayon threads are installed. chainflex robot cables also contain a special combination of PTFE liners so that the torsion-optimised shield assemblies can carry out necessary compensatory movements.
