Pantograph with different motion plastics components
Pantographs are exposed to permanent vibrations, shocks and pivoting movements. This makes it all the more important that they function reliably. With igus components made of high performance polymers, bearings in collectors no longer require additional lubrication and are therefore maintenance-free. Due to incorporated solid lubricants, the components are self-lubricating. High-performance polymers by igus are tested thoroughly in the test laboratory. Based on the test results, their service life can be calculated with free online tools.

As igubal spherical bearings are made of non-conductive high-performance polymers, they can be used as insulating components on collectors. The igubal rod end bearings KBRM and KARM are used. The same non-conductive specifications are provided on collectors by iglidur plain bearings, which are made of the materials G J, W300, X and Z. Each of these materials has certain advantages, such as conductivity, low moisture absorption or resistance to high temperatures. In this application both igus products display their maintenance-free use. In addition, igus high-performance polymers are corrosion-free and weather-resistant.
