2023 bronze manus® - municipal vehicle

Description of application

Industry: commercial vehicles
Customer requirements: Corrosion-free, wear-resistant components that are resistant to water, spray mist, sand, gravel, and brake dust
igus solution: drylin W linear guide

Fiedler Maschinenbau und Technikvertrieb GmbH receives the bronze manus for its use of drylin W linear guides.

Fiedler Maschinenbau und Technikvertrieb GmbH is building a high-pressure cleaner for municipal vehicles that clean dirty streets, walkways, and squares. Its core is the FSB 1500/2600 double spray boom mounted in front of the vehicle. It uses side nozzles, a middle section, and electronically switchable high-pressure underfloor nozzles with high water pressure. What is special is that the high-pressure cleaner's working area can be changed at the touch of a button.

The double spray boom can be infinitely telescoped up to 500mm on each side. This adaptability enables the driver to clean large areas faster, or to drive between park benches and rubbish bins without complicated steering manoeuvres. The engineers use a drylin W double rail WS and a drylin W pillow block for the telescopic function.

The corrosion-free components are not only resistant to wear, water and spray mist, sand and gravel, and brake dust, but also robust enough to withstand severe impacts and vibrations from crossing curbs and cobblestones. And they are light enough to keep the load capacity for cleaning water as high as possible.
