Powerful e-chains for the stage

Particularly demanding technical requirements prevail in theatre and stage construction. Among other things, heavy loads such as acoustic and lighting systems, stage sets or entire stage platforms must be moved safely. Whether vertical or horizontal - a lot moves in the theatre. Today, a large number of motors and cables are generally used to set the stage machinery in motion. In addition, solutions are required that do not interfere with the visual or acoustic performance. The motor, data and bus cables should therefore run invisibly and quietly. However, there is usually only limited installation space available for this. The cables themselves must be compact, run quietly in the energy supply and at the same time withstand high dynamic loads. Stability and robustness are therefore necessary specifications. Stage technicians need systems that are easy to install, require little maintenance and promise maximum service life.

Designers have been relying on our smooth-running and safe E4.32 series energy supplies for more than 13 years. They are used vertically or horizontally in the field of stage technology, particularly in platforms. As the energy chains are made of tribo-plastics, they are both lightweight and wear-resistant. An integrated brake on the radius stops of the chain links additionally dampens stop-dog and rolling noise.
Traditionally, cable drums are also used in stage technology for cable routing, but they often reach their technical limits in terms of their cable absorption capacity and noise levels. Our e-spool is a quiet and extremely compact alternative. The cables are always protected from external influences, wear and tensile loads. During reeling, an integrated retaining spring ensures that the chain is correctly tensioned at all times. And the twisterband in the e-spool® enables continuous cable routing during rotational movements without the need for a slip ring.
If stages or heavy stage platforms have to be moved, lifting heights of many metres and high loads have to be managed. Here, too, we offer cost-effective, but also particularly space-saving and "inconspicuous" solutions. Until now, systems that were used for such applications were noisy, space-consuming and visually disruptive. With the "zig-zag" installation method and our foldable e-chain®, there is an effective alternative that is characterised by its compact design. By using reverse bend radius, the e-chain® can be laid down like an accordion. This means that very little space is required. When the platform is raised, the e-chain® unfolds quietly.
