Weight-saving energy chain systems

It is evident that the lower weight of the moving components is good for the overall performance of the machine. Less weight means lighter moving masses, heavier filling and also reduction of the drive power needed, which in turn leads to lower energy costs. Save weight in your application with the help of better energy chain systems.
Implemented in practice:

Saving weight with igus energy chains in the milling machine for bicyles from SHW Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH

In the new development of the PowerForce 8, a total of 15 energy chains from igus were used in all travel axes, the lifting cabin and the tool changer. By using igus energy chains, SHW Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH was able to reduce the weight by 40%.

Recommended weight-saving energy chains

Up to 10% less weight

e-chain E4Q compared to E4.56 The E4Q system - completely tool-free opening and closing of an energy chain. Up to 10% less weight and even longer service life.

Up to 27% less weight

e-chain E4.1L compared to E4.42 The system E4.1L - the ideal mix of strength and lightweight. Save up to 27% weight with energy chains that are almost the same size.

Up to 30% less weight

e-chain TRLF compared to TRCF With the openable TRLF e-chains, up to 30% weight can be saved, which can be good for a robot with higher dynamics.

Up to 48% less weight

e-chain YE compared to steel energy chain With the YE hybrid chain from igus, a 48% weight saving can be achieved compared to comparable steel energy chains that are available on the market.

Heavy components lower the payload

Energy chain for telescopic work platforms The payload plays an important role in many applications with inclined axes or a telescopic function as it may be limited by heavy components. In the case of this telescopic work platform the objective is, for example, to reduce the weight at the basket as far as possible.

Customers rely on energy chains
