igus®cube

The igus®cube
In 1964 Günther Blase founded the igus® company with the idea “Give us your most difficult injection-moulded part – we will find a solution.” The idea of an own promotional gift arose, realized in the 70s from the founder of the company and his brother, design professor Karl Oskar Blase. But the first versions of the “igus®cube” were faulty, because moulding of a thick-walled cube was not possible. Now the square organizer, which can be used either as tray or as penholder depending on the focus, was further developed. It is offered from the own production as promotional gift, design object and quality feature of the injection-moulded products.
The packaging design shows this pen holder as a three-dimensional object. Many correspondingly stacked packaging, causes an irritating always repeating three-dimensional pattern, which changes depending on the viewing angle.

The cube was registered for the iF Design Award and will be offered soon also in office supplies, furniture and design stores.
The cube is available in orange, light grey and dark grey.
