Swarf and particles in wood processing

Anthon GmbH has developed into a recognised machine and plant manufacturer for the furniture, construction and woodworking industries. Customers worldwide rely on the sanding machines, sawing systems of various technologies, logistics and peripheral systems as well as packaging systems of the plant specialist.
Particularly in demand are the throughfeed saws, which process chipboard, plywood, honeycomb, fibreboard and MDF with various coatings, as well as concrete. With its new machine generations, Anthon GmbH is strongly orientated towards its customers who want to manufacture their products 24/7 in high volume, but also in very small batches from batch size 1. The manufacturer's throughfeed saws have therefore been designed for maximum availability and reliability as well as quick and easy changeover. The up to nine automatically and quickly adjustable sawing units in just one throughfeed saw demonstrate a high degree of production flexibility. And with a feed speed of up to 100 metres per minute for the plate as it passes through the saw, no wishes are left unfulfilled when it comes to productivity. While the vertical range of manufacture at Anthon GmbH is relatively large, all components that are not part of the core business are bought in. In addition to steel construction elements, control cabinets and transport systems, this also applies to the cable ducts for all necessary supply, control and data cables.

Anthon has been sourcing its energy supply systems for supplying the sawing units with energy, media and control signals from our company for more than 20 years. And while the co-operation has worked smoothly ever since, the right answer was also found quickly when an incident occurred a few years ago: Due to a new type of panel material that had been cut up in large quantities, the energy chains used became clogged, increasingly immobile and literally stood on end. As there was a risk that the sawing units could collide with the energy supply units set up in this way and tear them open, a new solution had to be found - despite the fact that the type 14240 energy supply used here was operating in hundreds of throughfeed saws worldwide without any complaints. After assessing the problem on site and installing a temporary solution to maintain operation, a complete new energy supply was finally designed and a special injection moulding tool was built for it: the 4240AX series energy chain. 
In the 4240AX, the stop-dog is on the outside. This prevents chips, dust, sawdust and the like from being deposited on them so that the chain no longer sets up. With a bend radius of around 200 millimetres, the e-chain® is relatively small and enables more compact machines. We recommend it for applications in which a lot of dust and fine particles are generated, such as in the woodworking and wood processing industry, in mining, in coal-fired power stations and similar applications and sectors.
With an internal height and width of 62 x 125 millimetres, the installation space is sufficient to accommodate all the necessary supply, control and data cables. The chain is very easy to install; its crossbar can be easily opened for harnessing with a screwdriver.
