Polymer plain bearings have been increasingly used in organ building for several years. The bearing bushes used have proven themselves so well in wood that spherical plain bearings and clevis joints are now also being used with great success. The co-operation between component suppliers and organ builders has now resulted in a strategic partnership. At organ builder Baumgartner, for example, a console was fitted with over 3,000 bushings made of polymer material. You can find out more about the advantages of the special bearing over traditional cloth bearings and its acceptance in the industry in this case study.
