Lubricant-free rail guide for screen adjustment in tractor cockpit

• Requirements: The linear guide system had to be completely free of lubrication so that it could be easily operated by hand in the cockpit. Further requirements were an appealing visual appearance, durability, quiet and jolt-free sliding as well as smooth and maintenance-free movement

In the cockpit of this agricultural machine, Deutz Fahr required a linear rail construction for mounting screens so that they could be adjusted by hand. Later on, moveable iPads were to be attached to this or else a second isoBus terminal. This should function as a second monitor in the Extend solution from Deutz Fahr, for example to duplicate the isoBus terminal.
The key requirements that the system had to fulfil were clear: the rail had to be easy to move by hand and withstand dust, dirt and humidity. Its design also had to fit in with the cockpit of the new 8280 TTV tractor. These specifications had to be met reliably, even after years of use.

The drylin W linear rail system fulfilled all requirements. The product was used to attach a RAM mount system to the inside of the roof.
Today, it allows the driver to easily move the tablet or isoBus terminal forwards and backwards, even after years of using the tractor. The self-lubricating drylin polymer linear bearings are a central component. This means that you can even touch the rail without getting oil or grease on your hands.
Even if it is only a few grammes: all cars, lorries and agricultural machinery produce emissions in the form of e.g. fuel consumption. Every gramme of weight saved reduces emissions and helps the environment. Of course, the same applies to our zero-lubrication systems. Where there are no lubricants, no oil or grease can end up in the ground.
