Why energy chain guarantee?
Energy chains often have a service life of over 10 years (depending on the application, environment and dynamic parameters). The new guarantee service gives the buyer the security of knowing that their individual application has been designed exactly right and that they are always choosing the most favourable e-chain that is sure to work.

When does the guarantee start?
The guarantee applies to new purchases from 15 February 2020, starting on the date of delivery of the energy chain for all e-chain components that fail due to wear.

When does the guarantee end?
The guarantee ends at the end of the 4 years, starting from the delivery date.

Is there a guarantee on the installed cables?
We also provide a guarantee of up to 4 years on the chainflex cables installed in the e-chain.

In which countries does the energy chain guarantee apply?
The energy chain guarantee is valid internationally. The issuing authority is igus GmbH, regardless of the country in which you request the guarantee certificate via the service life calculator.

What is the exact scope of the guarantee?
For the specified guarantee period, igus will supply a replacement free of charge (delivery ex works). This only applies to igus e-chain components that have failed due to wear.

What is excluded from the energy chain guarantee?
Mechanical damage and damage caused by incorrect assembly are excluded.

Is the guarantee extended by a replacement delivery?
The guarantee period is not extended by a replacement delivery.

When does the service life guarantee apply?
The e-chain service life guarantee applies for the calculated number of double strokes according to the igus online service life calculator, but for a maximum of 4 years after the delivery date, whichever comes first. The guarantee applies to all energy chains that can be selected in the service life calculator.

In the 3,800 square metre laboratory, igus puts its products through their paces under the most adverse conditions up to total failure in order to determine the service life of its products. The result: 10 billion e-chain cycles per year.

The e-chain service life calculator uses the data from the test laboratory to determine the service life of igus standard energy chains in customised applications. Over 4,000 tests and more than 7,500 results flow into the online tool. The number is increasing daily in order to be able to make even more precise statements about the service life. For this reason, igus is the only supplier worldwide to offer a 4-year guarantee on its energy chains.
