TH3 energy chain in slicing systems

TH3 energy chain in the mushroom harvesting system

Harvest, cut and pack each mushroom by hand? This is costly, but still standard in the mushroom industry. So far. Because, Northern Ireland-based Axis Technology and Development is developing a semi-automatic harvesting system. For the cable management in the plant, the e-chains® of the TH3 series are used, which are suitable for the food sector. The energy supply systems are designed according to hygienic design guidelines and are resistant to aggressive cleaning agents and chemicals. They also operate reliably in high humidity, which is common in the mushroom industry.

What are the requirements of an energy chain for food contact?

Whether it is a question of taking over the guide function of an energy chain, ensuring a design that is as open as possible and therefore easy to clean, or using materials that may be used in direct contact with food. We incorporated all these requirements into the development and implemented them with the TH3. Last but not least, the materials used are in compliance with FDA and EU 10/2011 and are coloured blue for visual detection.

The central focus was on eliminating dead spaces or undercuts in the system. Corners that are difficult to clean are equally unwelcome. For this reason, all corners were rounded and all surfaces finished with a slight radius. The connections of the chain are implemented by press-fit excess dimensions and thus also prevent potential tattered corners. We have designed the energy chain in such a way that it can be cleaned as easily as possible. "Just rinse it with water and be done" was the goal.

Product range:

The energy chain TH3 is available with a choice between two inner heights and four inner widths for each of these heights. The up to 4 fixed interior segments are thus possible for both sizes. This means that cables and hoses can be laid completely separately from each other and yet have sufficient gaps for cleaning purposes.
