The igus® DC motor portfolio also includes motors with worm wheel gearboxes. As a result, the plug-in shaft is side-mounted on the motor itself. The motors can be used for simple linear movements and without power electronics. This means that they can be operated with batteries. By simply reversing the polarity of the connections, the direction of rotation of the motors is changed. Other advantages of the motor are its effectiveness, compactness and quiet running. The motor also has an integrated magnetic rotary encoder (2 channel Hall sensor) that is suitable for positioning.
