igus components are not just used in trains and trams. They can also be found in road-rail vehicles, such as snowploughs and maintenance vehicles. By means of hydraulic cylinders, the bogie of these vehicles can be lowered. In the cylinders, plain bearings and guide rings made of iglidur materials are used. They are characterised by their extremely long service life and are also maintenance-free. 

You can choose from a variety of different materials, so that for every shaft material - both soft and hardened - you'll find a suitable plain bearing and guide ring material. In road-rail vehicles with lifting platforms or cranes, additional energy chains and chainflex cables are used, as both are characterised by extreme load capacity. e-chains by igus are also tested thoroughly. That way it can be ensured that they are durable and strong despite weathering, vibration, shocks and heavy loads. In addition, their material and construction help reduce weight.
