Guide rollers are there to enable smooth movements and safe transport of loads in various applications. They ensure a constant linear movement within the rails and guides. Among others, they are used in the following applications:
Conveyor belts in material handling
Production and sorting systems
Furniture industry (e.g. the movement of gates and doors)
Our guide rollers made of plastic do not require any additional lubrication, have a high load-bearing capacity and are low-maintenance. We offer guide rollers with L, U and V profiles in many materials for a wide variety of applications. Special parts are also available.
We manufacture plastic guide rollers in your desired shape, quantity and material, as the suitable dimensions and materials are not always included in our standard product range. You can choose between different manufacturing processes. Request a consultation now without obligation.
Rollers for rolling knife edges enable conveyor belts to be redirected over knife edge transitions with little installation space, even at high speeds. Transported goods are thus transferred safely from Conveyor A to Conveyor B.
In 2005, Krones faced a challenge with Variopac Pro, a fully automatic all-round packaging system: its performance had to be increased by 20 packs per minute. Hence, there was an urgent need for action during the deflection of the conveyor belts. Originally, metal rollers with needle roller bearings had been in use here, but they couldn't meet the higher performance requirements and were cost-intensive. Looking for an alternative, Krones Design Engineer Jürgen Werner came upon knife edge rollers from igus.
There is a series of processing steps from the beginning to the end of the belt. Around 1,400 iglidur rollers are used as smooth-running transport rollers for the complete guidance. Several technical advantages speak for themselves. "The belt is partly coated and oiled. Since the special plastic is insensitive, there is no wear and tear or damage due to scratches or other quality impairments. The surfaces present themselves in perfect condition", Günter Keller sums up.
Rollers made of iglidur materials are used in bottle filling and cleaning in various link roller guides. The highly automated and extremely fast-clocked processing steps are controlled by link roller tracks, in which wear-resistant plastic guide rollers run. These have to withstand the most aggressive cleaning chemicals as well as abrasive glass dust. Doing without lubrication and the long service life of the materials are also essential here.
Guide rollers for shading systems are often used in belt drives. They must be UV-resistant, durable and maintenance-free. A further critical aspect: silent and smooth operation. Plastic rollers made of iglidur can play to their strengths and are an ideal solution.
We carry out tests so that you don't have to. Find out how our iglidur products are tested in the test laboratory. We also carry out individual customer tests here.
