Short linear stroke on various shafts

The wear to iglidur plain bearings given short linear strokes is to be tested. Among other things, very short linear movements (5mm) are analysed at high frequency as they occur in such applications as actuators and magnetic technology. The goal of the test series is to determine the most wear-resistant iglidur plain bearing material for various shafts given short linear movements. Another goal of the test was to determine the coefficient of wear for the online service life calculation (iglidur Expert).

Conclusion:

The wear properties vary from one iglidur material to another during testing on various shafts/counter partners. The results show that iglidur material works with less wear on hard anodised aluminium than on carbon steel. It is worth mentioning that each shaft material has an optimal iglidur material for optimising wear (and vice versa).

There are wear results for all iglidur materials for various shaft materials. The table shows just an excerpt. Please contact us if you are interested in the results of other pairings.
