This telemetric and navigation device is used in remote-controlled deep-sea vehicles. For optimal functioning, it needs to be dived into the water outside the vehicle’s shell. For this purpose, the developers built a fixture that can drive the device in and out if required. In order for optimal functioning, a guide system is required that is corrosion-resistant on one hand and lubrication-free on the other. For this reason the developers decided to apply a drylin® linear guide system from igus®.
