Lubricant-free plain bearing technology

iglidur® plastic plain bearings from igus® are maintenance-free, cost-effective and versatile. iglidur® plain bearings are suitable for mass-produced automotive products or for the construction of special machines, for underwater applications, for the food and tobacco industry, for extreme resistance to chemicals and temperature fluctuations or for simple sheet metal feedthrough: iglidur® plain bearings always offer a solution - either from the product range in the catalogue or as a special customised bearing solution - no minimum order quantity!

Guide rings made of the desired material and with the required dimensions

Why complicate things if you do not need to? Some things can actually be very easy: replace complex stamped PTFE strips with a single clip-on guide ring, for example in cylinders, control valves and fittings. We offer iglidur® guide rings made of a variety of materials to choose from for different operating conditions.

Polymer slewing ring bearing

iglidur® PRT is a slewing ring bearing with the proven and tested advantages of the igus® polymer bearings. The glide pads made of iglidur® J run absolutely free of maintenance and lubrication. The housing parts of slewing ring bearings are made of aluminum, and counter-running surfaces of iglidur® J gliding elements are hard-anodized. All binding screws are made of stainless steel.

Linear guides

Lubricant-free linear bearings

drylin® linear bearings operate on sliding surfaces, unlike familiar recirculating ball bearing systems. Years of tests have shown that iglidur® J, J 200, and X are the ideal materials for most linear applications due to their favourable wear and friction properties. That is why drylin® linear plain bearings use these materials. drylin® linear bearing systems are designed for dry operation, protecting your applications against contamination from grease and oils. In contrast to recirculating ball bearings, drylin® bearings are independent of length of travel and impose no minimum stroke length restrictions.

Screw drives / trapezoidal thread and steep thread

drylin® SD lead screw drives: self-lubricating plastic thread nuts with trapezoidal or high helix lead screws. With quick product finder and lead screw drive service life

Lubricant-free drive technology

drylin® lead screw linear units have been developed for position settings of all types. The linear setting is achieved with trapezoidal threads of different sizes or high helix lead screws that can be driven manually or by motor. The maximum linear continuous speed is 1 m/min depending on thread and load. Lead screw linear unit suitability for an application can be checked using the graphs below.

Polymer ball bearings

xiros® polymer ball bearings revolutionize the ball bearing market. Where conventional metallic ball bearings are not expedient, many applications can be successfully implemented by their maintenance-free dry operation and the use of xirodur® high-performance polymers.

Spherical bearing

Lubricant-free spherical bearings

The igubal® series provides developers with a complete system of self-adjusting bearing elements: rod end bearings, clevis joints, flange bearings, spherical bearings, and pillow block bearings. Self-aligning bearings are easy to mount, adjust to all angular variations, and in many cases have already replaced special housings.
