One of these suppliers, with whom we work closely, is the Dutch company mtrl. Within the scope of an investment by igus and beyond that in close partnership, we combine experience and forces to demonstrate the infinite possibilities of plastics in the bicycle industry and to realize new visions.
With Generation 4.0 of its bike, mtrl has now presented the first bike on the igus:bike platform that sets global standards.

Frequently asked questions
We expect the weight to be around 17 kg. Please keep in mind that the bike will be an urban bike. It will offer an alternative to urban mobility, it is in no way meant to replace mountain bikes or road bikes.
No- not yet. The first bike will not be sold as an e-bike. We are also working on an e-version. However, it is still uncertain when this will come on the market.
The igus:bike made of recycled plastics will cost 1,200 €.
