Solar energy on board

To produce energy for the use of radio, light and GPS device, etc., a walk-on-able solar panel with controllers was used on board a sailing boat. The solar module should thereby be able to fulfill some tasks, for one the cell should have the longest possible operating life and ensure good value for money. On the other hand it was to be ensured that the module is permanently mounted in a place in the sun with little shade and is largely protected from damage.

The installation of the solar module was done in an E2 micro energy chain of the Series 04. For guiding, the e-chain® was embedded in an aluminum U profile. The connecting cable of the solar module thereby runs in the energy chain. The energy chain runs unsupported underneath the sliding hatch along with the sliding hatch and protects the connecting cables from external influences.
