autoglide - special solutions for long travels without trough guides

Long travels are always demanding for an energy chain system. For much of the travel, the e-chain® must run on the lower run or on glide bars. The energy chain system also needs guides in order to prevent a sideways movement. In most cases this is ensured by using a guide trough. However, there are also applications where a guide trough is not desirable for space reasons, whether this is due to visual or spatial requirements. The autoglide system was developed in 1995 to fill this gap. autoglide energy chains are self-guiding, need no guide troughs, and have travels of up to 80 m. You save purchase and installation costs and can keep tracks in the hall free for such equipment as forklifts and industrial trucks.

Advantages autoglide:

  • Self-guiding energy chain systems, no guide trough needed
  • Safe, low noise, abrasion-resistant and energy efficient
  • For travels of up to 80m
  • Travel speeds of up to 4m/s
  • Cost-effective solution, guide troughs not required
  • Very fast installation times for long travel distances, since no guide troughs are needed!
  • Small width, quiet operation

Busbar system vs. energy chain: this video by industry manager Christian Strauch covers the critical criteria for system selection and explains which system has an advantage in price, safety, maintenance, installation, and functional range.

White paper: Energy chain with steel-rope guide as an alternative to a busbar?

Up to now, many users have been relying on busbars to supply power to indoor and outdoor cranes, electric trains, and storage and retrieval units. Costs roughly the same as a busbar, but with advantages in regard to installation, modularity, and maintenance: the autoglide 5 combines the best of both worlds.
