Whether in production, processing or distribution: conveyor systems are an important part of in-house logistics. To transport a unit load from A to B, roller conveyors, roller ball tables and overhead conveyor systems are used, amongst other things. To make sure they can function without failure in continuous operation, durable components are required, which ideally do not need any maintenance. igus bearings made of high-performance polymers have low wear and work without external lubricants - this makes regular relubrication redundant and prevents the unit load from getting dirty. We offer a suitable material for your specific requirements, be it FDA approval , ESD protection or resistance to low temperature and chemicals.

Krones AG originally used metal rollers with needle bearings in its all-round packaging system to deflect the conveyor belts. These could not fulfil the higher performance requirements and were cost-intensive. Continuous operation with high speeds and resistance to grinding particles and temperatures of up to 100°C - rollers had to withstand these loads for at least one year. The new knife edge roller made of iglidur P210 exceed the required service life by far, they are used around the world in these systems, and work without failure.
In this labelling machine, polymer ball bearings are used in guide rollers instead of metal solutions made of steel, which were too heavy and had to be lubricated. Their task is to guide the plastic film as it moves through the machine. Service life was increased and maintenance costs were lowered. Up to now, the polymer ball bearings have ensured that the guide rollers operate quietly and that the machine performs its task without interruption.
