All aquarium fans are aware of this problem: the sun is shining and algae are growing in the aquarium.
In order to continue to have a clear view of the beautiful ornamental fish, the aquarium needs to be cleaned regularly.
The company Virea has developed a piece of furniture that takes over the cleaning process fully automatically.

The problem

In order to be able to offer an affordable final solution, a cost-effective and maintenance-free robotic solution is required. Due to the possible contact with dirt or, in the worst case, water, the system must be impervious to this. In addition, it must not generate any maintenance effort for the customer.

The solution

An igus flat linear robot with a simple clock direction control that triggers the cleaning process by means of an impulse.
Thanks to the compact design, the flat linear robot could be seamlessly integrated into the overall concept of the piece of furniture.
