Compact cable routing for innovative robot for unloading tyres from trucks

In order to automate the unloading of tyres from lorry trailers, an intelligent robot was developed on a movable crawler platform. Due to the limited space in the trailers and weight restrictions, the robot could not be battery or motor-powered. It therefore comes from outside and is fed to the robot together with numerous data and control cables via a compact e-spool® energy chain.

Tested in the test laboratory for real-life use

In the industry's largest plastic test laboratory, iglidur® bearings, drylin® linear technology and igubal® coupling rods are put through their paces. The focus here is on investigating the tribological specification of different material pairings and testing assemblies. The results are fed into our online tool for calculating service life and enable precise predictions to be made about durability.

Upon request, igus® also carries out customer tests in order to test the use of the products under very individual conditions.
