As a leading manufacturer of cables for signal transmission in machines, igus is naturally also focusing increasingly on the quality and reliability of the industrial plug-in connectors on offer. We source all power plug-in connectors and signal plug-in connectors from manufacturers who have proven their capability on the market and supply high-quality products. The igus online shop offers you products from the proven companies Intercontec, HARTING, HUMMEL, FCT electronic and Yamaichi.
In the following video you can see the difference between a normal screwed plug-in connector and one with Speed Tec from TE Connectivity (Intercontec)
SUB-D connectors are used for data transmission. The term is derived from the word D-Subminiature. Sometimes these industrial plug-in connectors are also called D-SUB connectors. The D stands for the outer shape of the connectors and sockets, which forms a trapezoid with rounded corners. This shape ensures that they cannot be plugged together the wrong way by mistake.
There are numerous manufacturers of cables and plug-in connectors that offer a wide range of products. Well-known manufacturers of plug-in connectors include companies such as TE Connectivity, Harting, Binder & Molex, which produce various types of connectors for industrial applications, and which igus includes in its product range.
Pure cable manufacturers such as the Prysmian Group, Nexans and Muckenhaupt produce a wide range of cable types. These include high-voltage cables, fibre optic cables and special cables for specific applications. The special feature of cables from igus is their structure/design, which enables them to cope with highly dynamic movements over a high number of repetitions without problems. Against this background, igus is continuously developing new technologies to meet the increasing demands on performance and reliability/durability.
There is a separate information page on this topic, where the various protection types/classes and their significance are explained.

Mechanical engineers and system integrators who cannot rely exclusively on crimp connections must pay more attention to the quality of the soldered connections. That is the only way to ensure constant electric conductivity over a long period of time and to permanently protect the connection point, e.g. against gases or liquids.

There are often questions about the different IP protection classes. How are they made up and what do the numbers and their combinations stand for? We also provide examples of applications for the various classes.
On the following page, we take a closer look at the topic of IP protection classes.
Fun fact: The IP protection class is specified for all TE Connectivity connectors in the online shop.
Product overview of high-performance connectors and signal connectors
The igus connector product range offers you a large selection of round plug-in connectors (TE Connectivity, Binder), SUB-D connectors from FCT Molex, square housings from Harting or connectors from the Yamaichi Y-Conkit series.
With other plug-in connectors, this is achieved by coding grooves and pins in the housings.

... available from stock!
For users who want to configure their individual interface themselves, there are now Module Connect sets with three or four cable entries.
They consist of carrier housings, connector housings, sealing inserts and strain relief. Accessories, such as single and double locking devices and fixing elements, can be ordered to match the application. Contact inserts for individual configuration are also available at igus!

Individual or standard service packs
Push on the connector, bend the cable at an angle, fix in place, and you're ready to use – With the ibow angle adapter, you can plug in connectors at an angle quickly and flexibly – even at a later.
